 COURSE STRUCTURE AND ATTENDANCE RECORD

START ANY TIME !!! The course is designed so you can start any time, you can even miss classes and catch up the next time the module comes around.

The course runs on Wednesdays 2pm-5:00 pm, Sundays, 12.30-3.30pm.

CHOOSE TIMES TO SUIT YOU- if you miss a class ....don't worry, you can catch up later.

Module 1

Date Attended

Introduction and learning how to do simple shiatsu on the back of  a receiver in  lying in Prone Position.

 

Principles of Zen Shiatsu- Crawling,  Applying relaxed, leaning perpendicular pressure to get a energetic connection  between giver and receiver. Contraindications and Safety 

Module 2

Date attended:

Side position.  Moving the body into the side position. An exploratory treatment

 Exercises to increase comfort, confidance and stability while giving Shiatsu  

Module 3

Date attended:

Review  of previous modules. Developing other possibilities available in the prone and side positions

Introducing more self healing techniques to energise and prepare for giving shiatsu.

Module 4

Date attended:

Sitting Position.Developing treatment in the sitting positions, on the floor, in chairs, use of support techniques

Working with a seated receiver. Appling Shiatsu to head neck and shoulders. Energy dispersal and stretching.

Module 5

Date attended:

Front position. Applying Shiatsu to a receiver lying on their back. Creating safety in the Shiatsu Situation, working with and responding to emotional turbulance. 

Yin and yang.htmlects of the body-treating the front position, the Hara (abdoment) head neck and shoulders.

Module 6

Date attended;

Review of Sitting and Front positions.Developing  ability to handle and support the body while maintaining energetic connection.

Reviewing different approaches already developed and exploring other possibilities and options. Movement and support during the transition from one shiatsu position to another. 

Module 7

Date attended:

The Front and Back Energy Centres

 

 Locating and Treating the energy centres- working with energy projection

 

Module 8

Date attended:

 

 The Hara

 

An introduction to the Hara- working on the abdominal region.

Module  9

Date attended:

Review of the Energy Centres  and Hara

Reviewing and developing techniques for the energy centres and Hara. Developing a treatment plan. Discussion of questions arising from practice treatments 

Module 10

Date attended:

Full treatment  exchange  

 

Exchanging full  treatment with another student. Assessment is possible in this session if all 20 practice treatments have been completed. 

Assessment

 Assessment can be done in the 10th module or at a later date.

 Treatment given to teacher for assessment purposes. 

Certification
